BajaXL 2025 Day 5 - La Paz to Todo Santos

Another relaxing day on the road, today was the amazing trek south and around the coast if we followed the off-road route. Instead Chad split up with us and explored with some of the other Baja XLer’s. Mike, Colleen and I decided to wander around La Paz for a few reasons. First they probably have great tacos, second Mike was hoping to find new suspension bushings and third we wanted to say hi to Baja Lube Express whom saved us in 2023. First we woke up at camp, had breakfast shots from JR and then towed the Miata off beach (thanks Mike). Finally we hit lava into town searching for our goals!

In past years this day was extremely stressful because the car was wounded, this time was refreshing and relaxing. Driving around the confusing streets of La Paz. Many are one way, others have sporadic stop signs and then there are fun mergers. If you’ve been driving for a few years you are probably fine, but it isn’t for the faint of driving.

Yes you too can have this gorgeous evening view. It just requires a trek all the way down to Cerritos and to know the right location to visit. If you’re reading my post you can easily figure this out. Can’t give away all the secrets!

Goodnight Baja

Aside from the obnoxious new lights this is a wonderfully peaceful place to visit. Way better than Cabo. Hoping that its growth doesn’t make it the new Cabo.

Until the next day of dirt!
