BajaXL 2025 Day 6 - Relaxation in Todos Santos

Not much of anything happened on this day. We were just lazy tourists doing tourist things like eating, drinking, beaching and tortugaing (its a word probably…).

First up was breakfast with Rocco followed by some sand and wave action.

Next up Todos Santos

When down here you have to at least spend a little time in the tourist town. It is cute with some unique quirks and weird shops along with the obvious tasty restaurants priced for the US clientele. The group; Chad, Mike, Colleen and me ended up wandering around and finding some tacos then buying trinkets before Judy and JR let us know about turtle releases nearby. There is also ‘official’ Hotel California here. Fun stuff.

Turtle Soup??

JK, these are babies being released into the wild. I have no idea how nature is so brutal yet critters continue to survive. They literally hatched like 12-36 hours ago and are now ready to wander into the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean. Fearless little ones. Well some were fearless, there were a handful that thought better and looped back towards the dry sand. I’m sure eventually they made their way over to the waters.

Released at dusk when sun is just setting to minimize any other wildlife that may find turtle snacks. This conservation group is doing their part to raise awareness and save turtles. If you are in the area check them out and donate!

Hey look some gringos got really lost in Mexico! See the Miata was in fact a very long way from home. Great rooftop restaurant in Todos Santos, Santoro.

Have to end the post on this great sunset. Until tomorrow when we get back on dirt!
