Large Crimp Tool

Sometimes you just need another tool to make the best possible connection. During routine maintenance on my F-250 I noticed the battery negative lead was highly corroded. After a little search I found an OEM style replacement from DEL CITY. Having a crimped connection instead of the generic bolted replacements gives me comfort that this will last for another 20 years without fail.

Preparation

Order of operations is identical to a standard small crimp.

  1. Strip off coating to proper length

  2. Ensure clean (old wires can become corroded on interior)

Flux and a bit of heat makes quick work cleaning the copper

  3. Crimp

In this case I zip tied the pair of conductors together for better alignment

These terminals required some muscle to finish!
