Her name was Candy

She was a spicy redhead with a strong heart. In dire need of care before her next outing. Don’t mind her latest grey styling.

The body of a sexy RX-7 FD with America v8 powering the rear wheels. Cam brought her to me for much needed maintenance. This started with an adventure just getting the car into my garage. Enlisting the grunt of my trusty green miata to save on leg day muscles.

Yup race car sitting for a few years has flat tires. Miata and its tiny pump to the rescue. Also race wagon carrying fuel jugs.

Documenting the Before State

Really in pretty good shape. Should just need a cleanup and fluid flush. But non-the-less I’ll capture its current condition.

Todo List

  • Engine Oil - 5w-30 Mobile One many many quarts

  • Transmission Fluid [Quaife] - recommended FuchsTitan SYN5 75W90

  • Differential Fluid [Ford 8.8 IRS] - 75W-80 w/friction modifier

  • Radiator Fluid aka Coolant - Deadly Di-Hydrogen Monoxide.

  • Fix Driver’s door release cable (new wire and ferrules)

  • Better foot traction via grip-tape below pedals

  • General nut and bolt

  • Flush Brake Fluid - Motul 660

Planning this to be a quick effort as I’m eagerly awaiting my Ultima RS. It is still on a damn boat near the UK.
