Fire Balls!
After the trip out to Overland Expo in Colorado I’ve been craving an unsafe creation similar to the one I found out there. There was an ill advised purchase while I was there, I was strong and didn’t buy one. But if you’d like and don’t feel quite as creative they sell them for around $700.
However I wanted something a bit more fun and my own…. let the project begin!
Test… Test… Test…
Of course I had to test this idea before I purchased the expensive ($10) NERF gun to hold all the parts.
Yes this has interchangeable fittings that adjust the flame length.
Furthest reach is around 10-15 feet for a stream. Alternate options include a wide 6 foot fire ball.
Should be quite fun.
It begins.... Found a perfect cheap dart gun to hide it all
Disassembly of the toy, documenting all the parts to reassemble correctly later
Opening it up to confirm the Kawasaki Ninja fuel pump would fit. We are in business!
Using a 3S Lipo battery for an R/C drone, 450 maH should have enough power for the amount of fuel it will hold
Fuel tank prototyping. Will make from brass.
Checking nozzle and ignitor fitment. Very Nice.
Tearing apart a BBQ ignitor. Cheap easy way to light off the fuel.
Transferred the cardstock template to a thin sheet of brass for the sides of my fuel tank.
Getting there. Have most components organized in their homes. Fuel pump, 1/4" x 5" brass tube, 1/4" pressure washer adapter, LiPo batter, trigger, main switch, parts of BBQ ignitor. Just need to finish tank and some wiring.
