New 911 Seats in an Older 911

Will they fit was the immediate question. Cars evolve over time as manufacturers search for improvements. I had suspicions that it would ultimately require modifications.

Looks like a simple removal of the bottom brackets. They use 7mm bolts TIG welded into the rails, which are in turn bolted onto the seat sliders with very thin wall flange nuts. After a bit of rummaging through tools I found something that will work!

Turns out Porsche haven’t significantly changed the seat mount locations from ‘74 to ‘21. Great for me.

They appear to fit nicely.
